The Comic Book History of Comics (previously Comic Book Comics) is a project of by Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey to tell the history of American comic books through the medium of comics itself. Much like their previous colaboration Action Philosophers!,Comic Book Comics has been lauded for its extreme accuracy as well as its sense of humor.
ComicsAlliance has an “exclusive preview” of the upcoming TPB of the series (the material already appeared in single-issue form) centering around Wonder Woman and her creator William Moulton Marston.
Marston, also a psychologist and the inventor of the lie detector, is definitely one of the strangest, most interesting writers of the Golden Age. You won’t want to miss this.
"I was reading some Alan Moore Marvelman for some reason today. I found one in the back there and I couldn’t believe. I pick it up and there are fucking two rapes in it and I suddenly think how many times has somebody been raped in an Alan Moore story? And I couldn’t find a single one where someone wasn’t raped except for Tom Strong, which I believe was a pastiche. We know Alan Moore isn’t a misogynist but fuck, he’s obsessed with rape. I managed to do thirty years in comics without any rape!”
